Purpose and Reason:
The proposed regulation is drafted in accordance with the National Association of Insurance Commissioner Model Regulation 903. The Department has declined to include the definition of “limited insurance representative” contained in the Model Act since there is no provision for such representative in Rhode Island law. The Department amended the reference in Section 5D of the model to reflect advances in technology since the model was last amended.
